Chickens threaten to unseat Prime Minister

BANGKOK:-- Chickens have given Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra plenty to worry about recently, with outbreaks of avian flu among Thai poultry stocks threatening the country’s economy.

But today chickens posed a new problem, when a hen brood of chicks waddled across the path of the prime minister’s car as his chauffeur drove him into his official Bangkok residence, Ban Phitsanulok, for a meeting, forcing the driver to brake suddenly.

Fortunately an accident was narrowly avoided, and both prime minister and chickens were unscathed.
