Etihad Lounges

On my way to BKK in 2 weeks time.... can anyone who has flown Etihad recently confirm which lounges they use at BKK and whether the lounge in AUH has been refurbished as announced?

Last October the lounge in Swamyboom was awful with all the computers ripped out and very poor food and drink selections..whilst the one in Abu Dhabi was comfortable but crowded and in need of a refurb. They did do an excellent vegetable biryani though!!

I just flew with them at the beginning of April.

The business lounge in Bangkok has not changed - it leaves a lot to be desired.

Food is very basic.

The lounge at Abu Dhabi was under refurbishment – and we could use the Transport hotel lounge or another lounge – they were both very busy.

In comparison, the Etihad lounge is far superior to any other ... Moet champagne, a full range of excellent foods and drinks and good seating (in Bangkok). Upon my return, I’m expecting the Emirates lounge in Dubai to be very busy however.

I always find the lounge time is limited unless there is a long time between connecting flights in Abu Dhabi. In flight the excellent 180 deg flat beds in business class far outweigh any differences in lounge quality.

I just flew Emirates to Dubai and the business class seats felt cramped a-la-economy style by comparison.

Cheers Richard.. I was rather hoping that the BKK lounge had been changed or refurbished...As I now have an 11 hour transfer time in AUH I am hoping for a room in the hotel.

I agree totally re the beds and specifically chose flights involving night time sectors so as to be able to get a decent kip.

Thanks for taking the time to reply
