Koh Phangan Forum

Featured Replies

Living many years in Koh Phangan, I would find more useful to separate the KPG forum from the Samui one.

Probably a bit less antipathy from some Samui reader too.

Unfortunately there are probably only about 10 or so active Koh Phangan posters. Hardly enough to warrant a separate forum.

Ok. I was guessing many more. If so low better keep jointed.

You are right, but still somehow it could (should) be organised differently if possible. But I have no clou if it is possible, or if others living in one of those places, would wish it that way to :o

But for me it would make more sence if under a main-titel e.g. "Southern golf", having chumphon, ko tao, ko phangan, ko samui and suratthani as subtitel (little sub-forum) to go then direct to the appropriate folder, since all those places are somehow related together and "depending" together.

In may case I'm not at all interested about samui but still would go and check if there is an intersting posting. Same with the other "southern golf" places.

hope you understand what I mean. Anyway I'm ok with the actual situation, but I like easy and direct access and if there are plans for changes, go for it.

I agree with you! I lived before in Koh Samui and even if this island changed much, i keep of good memory of it and sometimes there are a good informations to read :D

Samui/Phangan/Tao forum is too large to be put into the Southern Thailand forum, IMO. The Samui forum is, in fact, far busier than the Southern Forum so it wouldn't really make any sense at all to "hide" it in there as a subforum.

As for Samui people's antipathy, well, one way to eliminate some of the Samui people from a Phangan thread is to state clearly that only Phangan residents need respond. You will still get people who feel the need to answer BS to any thread, but those are more easily dealt with :o

I like it as it is, even if I live in KP.

For what it's worth, I found this blog about KPhangan a few weeks ago (it was posted on the lonely planet thorntree website)

http://knowphangan.blogspot.com/

It's pretty funny and has no fear about what it says but I get the impression that it's meant to inform rather than offend (the post about comparing locals to mexicans is pretty funny though)

Incidentally, this isn't my blog (I would have no idea how to do one) and I have no idea who put it together.

I come here seasonally and stay at Cookies Resort in Wok Tum (if there's space) so I do have an interest in what's going down on KPG.

I joined this forum mainly to post this link and would like to stick around and see how all this works, but if I get a load of flaming I'm off.

Cheers

Kate.

Thanks Katherine! I found the blog you say and looks very funny, and free from so many censorships. Grazie

Phew, that a relief, I was expecting one of the 'older' more 'focused' members to jump (or at least try to) down my throat!

Thanks mate.

X :o

i'm also interested in samui news/gossip so i'd be against splitting the forums.

If the forums were split which forum would Koh Tao be paired with?
