I know we never will, but it would be interesting to hear her side of the story. Every once in awhile I used to run into a pretty coworker that just couldn't shake off a foreign guy she had no romantic interest in. Cultural differences made it tough to communicate that lack of interest. And who can say no to a wad of "money for nothing"? I can't count the number of love starved guys I've met on flights to visit their sweety in Asia. I've also run into a few guys on flights headed to the local US Embassy to read the riot act to whoever isn't issuing a visa to their sweety, in spite of months of online chatting and 2 or 3 weeks of meeting in person. I suspect this is one of the zillions of stories of sick buffalos, monthly allowances from back home and promises of faithfulness. Lord knows, I've seen enough YouTubes and TikToks advertising how they'll teach the local girls how to get (and stay) on the foreigner gravy train.
