Charging A Laptop

Featured Replies

charging a laptop will it still charge the battery if its turned off. but of course you are still plugged into the mains

Yep, plugged in it will charge the batteries (probably got a light to indicate charging).

Not come across one that doesn't (famous last words).

thanks 4 that info, the reason i ask is ive just bought a new battery and no light comes on 2 say its charging, i charged it turned on, i charged it 4 10 hours as recommened by the shop and it show 43% they told me to do this 3 days on the trot to maximise my batterys exsistence, perhaps if ive got turned off 2nite i will get 100%

Not knowing the specific computer model, I would say "probably" it is charging. I've not yet seen a computer that required to be running to be charged, but there just might be one...

Most laptops have a colored indicator light that illuminates if the battery is charging. e.g. My Acer shows an amber light while charging, which changes to a green light when the battery is fully charged.

It will charge faster while turned off too :o
