Popping Over To China And Back Within A 60 Day Visa

Featured Replies

I am on a 60 day tourist visa I got from Laos a month ago and next week I am attending a wedding in China. I will be back in Thailand long before my 60 day tourist visa expires as I will only be in China for a week. Am I likely to encounter any problems coming back to China?

I am flying to China on a one way ticket but even if it was a round trip I would still be re-entering Thailand on a single ticket.

Cheers

You will need to get a re-entry permit to keep your current permission to stay in Thailand alive. This can be procured from immigration in Thailand.

Should not have a problem with the ticket.

So will this re-entry permit cost anything?

Re-entry permit

E-ticket to onward bound

Still within 60 day visa

Looking smart

Surely that should be enough... Do I definately need to add a re-entry permit to the list?

If you are eligable for visa exempt entry, and have not used your allowed 90 days, and have an outbound ticket within 30 days of your return there should not be any need for a re-entry permit - you just return to get a new 30 day stamp.

If you plan to stay in Thailand for a longer period and use the 30 day extension allowed on a 60 day tourist visa you would want a re-entry permit to keep it alive.

A re-entry permit costs 1,000 baht.
