Laptop Ignores Power Settings

Hi,

I have an HP nx6125 laptop running win XP pro.

According to the power settings, the screen should turn black after 15 min. Since yesterday, without changing anything, it turns black after one minute only - which is pretty annoying when you're reading something.

If you change the time to a different value or even to "never", the computer ignores it and turns off the screen after one minute. Any advise?

ill presume you hit the apply button, and maybe did a restart raro, then i would try a screen saver instead, cos im that thick im still looking for the "Any Key"

yep, went through the apply button and restart routine several times, after all I am not that new to Windows...

Try a restore point from a few days back.

okokok.....it was the bleeding screensaver...no idea WHY that one was switched on and set to one minute, but that's what it was...

mods....delete this thread....better.....get rid of it NOW.
