Honda Crv Vs Fortuner

Featured Replies

I am in the early stages of looking for a 4X4. I need to buy in credit in my Thai friends name. I have about 200k to down.

How do these 2 suvs compare. Offroad, onroad, price and available finance.

Are there new models coming out in near future i think the current CRV is quite old now?

Thanks

I bought the new CRV (the model is only one year old) in November. I got the 2.4i top of the range for 1.46 million so it was 100,000 more than the Fortuner. It only seats 5 as opposed to the F's 7 but since I only have myself and wife this is plenty for us.

These are the reasons I choose the CRV over the fortuner which I tried along with the Cheverelot. This is, I stress, only my opinion and is not a dig at Fortuner owners who in the main love the motor.

The ride of the CRV is just like a car wheras I found the Fortuner a bit truck like.

I only tried the deisel fortuner which seemed quite noisy compared to the quiet of the CRV petrol engine.

The knobs and switches felt like a german car solid and chunky wheras the fortuners felt a bit plasticky.

The extras like electric seat and auto windscreen wipers and lights are handy as is the parking sensor.

Overall it feels like an Audi or Merc and is very responsive and smooth. I use it to pick up my clients at the airport and they (all successful and/or rich) have commented on how nice it is. I am very happy with it although I have just bought a triton deisel truck that has been pimped up which I will pick up at the weekend. It will be interesting to see which I go for when I am not on business!!

Downsides? It likes a drop of petrol and would not compare economically to the deisel Fortuner.

I have had no reason to try its 4 wheel drive and as its a soft roader I doubt I will but it seems alright on our bumpy track.
