Mobi
Don't go to K9. I checked it out a couple of years back and had a very comfortable feeling. I suspect that some unacceptable practises are used there, and that may also apply to any other Thai run training schools. Unless someone has first hand experience, I wouldn't trust them. I suggest you post on the plant and pets forum, or P.M. directly to Neinke, Thai Visa's resident expert on dog training. He can give you some very good tips and advice on this. BTW what breed is the puppy? I have a Golden retriever and two Shih Tsus and it's the funniest pack you ever did see
monty
K9 is indeed the biggest heap of rubbish. Brought two dobermans there, first they learned bugger all, secondly one got seriously ill, ending up in a very expensive vet bill. And it's <deleted> expensive as well! Tammi
The Dog Hotel does training. Look on the Pet Forum for recent info on website, telephone numbers, etc. - I think that's where I saw Dog Hotel last mentioned.
Naam
BTW what breed is the puppy? it's one of these voracious and dangerous huge big breeds distantly related to the Irish Wolfhound. we are planning to use him as a watchdog to scare burglars away and named him "Tiger". Mobi
Actually, my dogs trained me I got all kinds of training aids from good folks on the internet, but I guess I just don't have the patience. I know it's wrong, and according to the dog experts they are much happier if you are their leader and control them, but for me it just hasn't happened. Fortunately all 3 are very intelligent, and they have taught themselves to obey "come here" and "sit" and they understand "no" if I shout loud enough. They like to humour me. And they're very good at comforting me and licking my feet in sympathy every time Mrs Mobi gets angry with me. And they follow me everywhere I go ( so maybe I am their leader), until Mrs Mobi shouts at them to get out of the house But get him trained properly - do as I say - not as I do

pluto_manibo
I think you might want to spend the time and train him yourself. If it is basic training you need, do it yourself! Save the money and strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Teach him to walk on a lead, do his "Business" on a newspaper at first then outside, walk, heel, down, come...etc....It should take you two sessions of 20 mins a day for a month for it to sink in. If all fails..then UKkennels on the road to Silverlake and Buddha image mountain(Kao Chee Chan).

Mobi
My gang are bi-lingual. They understand NO!! in English and "Come here" in Thai (Mah leo leo!!), and "Sit",(Nang) in both English and Thai Right now they are fast asleep on my office floor in air-conditioned comfort - no doubt contributing to global warming, and creating doggy (sorry carbon) footprints all over the place. Beardog
Naam, Good luck on your dog training. your dog will outgrow the pissing & pooing stage when you see it going get it used to (being escorted out the door & going) along with praise. 2 years training our retriever & it is still slow at learning . The little woman does better than I do . I am to much of a softee & give it to much affection before training..... a no no for sure. Stay away from K-9 . I have heard no kind words about them as well.
