Or - she went to watch a footie match, bought a pie and found meat and mushy peas inside, instead of the anticipated chocolate. Still wondering why anyone would go to Queensland. Except Brendan Fevola, 'cos it was the only place that'd have him.
May 6, 201016 yr (Very poor - ignore the last post.) (Just had a power cut on site - two hours with nothing to do and I can't think up anything to say)

May 7, 201016 yr Well if she's in Melbourne, she's probably fallen in love with the place and lost track of time. Who could blame her? All that clean air, the magnificent scenery and those wonderful restaurants. After all, when she finishes her business in Melbourne, she's only got that ghastly Sydney place to look forward to (if her plane can find Kingsford Smith Airport in amongst all that smog). (That should throw the Melbourne cat amongst the sole-surviving, soot-covered asthma-wheezing Sydney pigeon!)

Nice to see you didn't mention Melbourne's weather, it's trains or it's suburban beaches Ping........ Perhaps she kept on driving to Adelaide, the city of strange murders & missing persons.....
May 7, 201016 yr She still be in Melbs. Sydney city where they spent 65 years paying off a $10,000,000 bridge, dumb. Reckon it woulda bin cheaper to drain the swamp. With city fathers like that, yer'd hafta be Ruddy batts, to live there. Now Melbourne, beautiful bay, great parks and top city for sport, who would want to live elsewhere. Yeah, the weather, but not that bad. Edited May 7, 201016 yr by Zpete

(Hawthorn, of course)(and St Kilda, 'cos they seem to play flat out for the whole match, not resting in the fourth quarter)
May 8, 201016 yr I think it's very nice that you antipodeans have somewhere away from normal people, where you can to talk to each other about what goes on on your own little Island. Thank heavens for Bedlam where psychosis, and other forms of lunacy can flourish. We should start a thread about something similar, perhaps.............. Jersey ? Edited May 8, 201016 yr by suiging

The farmer had to do fence patrols by plane.
May 8, 201016 yr ^Harcourt, no comment, then, about Limpy's observation of antipodeans being abnormal?
May 9, 201016 yr ^Harcourt, no comment, then, about Limpy's observation of antipodeans being abnormal? As long as it is recognised that the best country in the world is also HUGE. Since the population of the Antipodes is smaller than Britain's, and we are different from them, we are by definition not normal. The negative connotations of that do not apply in our case. He distinguished us from "normal" people, which is not to say abnormal...... above average or hyper-normal would be apt.

May 9, 201016 yr Yes it was a hard man's game back in the day - but I don't reckon they'd hold a candle to today's players. The player of today is generally fitter and a better player of the game technically - I doubt a lot of the blokes from years past could keep up with them.

Ya reckon, dunno about dat. 1st qtr..... soften them up. 2nd qtr...... hit 'em hard. 3rd qtr ...... hit 'em summore and score sum. 4th qtr ...... they be too sore to stop goals, run 'em into the paddock. May 11, 201016 yr She still be in Melbs. She is back in Sydney after spending a week discovering the joys that are Melbourne. I used to say the best three things to come out of Sydney are, in order of preference 1) Pacific Highway 2) Hume Highway 3) Princes Highway CB
May 11, 201016 yr See how kind the Aussies are to us poor Brits http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...de-theatre.html Well worth a ticket - if you're appreciative of the play. Many aren't.
May 11, 201016 yr ^Yes, a nice bit of contrived publicity intended for local (Melbourne) consumption, that happened to find its way onto the wires. I doubt they'll be selling too many tickets to readers in Blighty...

May 11, 201016 yr ^Harcourt, no comment, then, about Limpy's observation of antipodeans being abnormal? Auzzies and Kiwis ARE abnormal. Who wants to be normal? Normal is some bloke stuck working in a factory in London, Detroit, Amsterdam, Hamburg, or Toronto.
May 11, 201016 yr ^As opposed to being stuck working in a factory in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland or Wellington...
May 11, 201016 yr ....prefers being a Kiwi who is stuck in front of his puta, figgarin out where this kiwi nis gunna fly off to next. And doing it. Who says Kiwis can't fly, this one does?
May 12, 201016 yr ^As opposed to being stuck working in a factory in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland or Wellington... Yes, but when your shift is finished in Sydney you can wander down to Bondi beach and check out the topless beauties spread out like smorgasbord. Can't do that in London, Detroit, New York, or Hamburg.
