Which Visa For 6-9 Months Stay ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am citizen of Czech Republic, 30 years old. I plan to move to Thailand at the end of 2008. I'd like to stay from 6 to 9 months. Which kind of Visa should I apply?

I already started to think about some studies just to get student visa.

Thank you for replies.

Yrvas

well looking at it, you need to read the following, and then get a 1 year visa, if possible, to allow any further stay etc

http://www.thaiembassy.cz/

http://www.thaiembassy.cz/Consular%20Infos/touristvisa51.pdf

now failing that or maybe you not in Czech Republic at this mo, maybe a tourist visa from maybe just outside thailand!

if you come on 30 day (no visa req) you can do another 2 of them giving you approx 3 months (to do this you a border run, there and back done in a day)

then after that, you can go another country just accross land/border and get 60 days then same again 3x border runs giving you say 8 months stay!

theres more you can do to extend etc but read this, (click below) gives a few tips,

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=158561

but i would think this would be the last option as i think the Thai embassy i prague will get you a better deal, and a lot less messing around!

sorry i have no idea about an educational visa

and of course

:o

Chris. He cannot get a 30 days Visa Exempt Stamp with a Czech Passport.

He can only get a VOA for 15 days.

Looking at the Czech web site it looks as though tourist Visas are his only option.

Plus of course the Wallen School. Education Visa route,

A tourist visa will only provide a 30 day stay, that can be extended another 30 days, for his passport.

"he can only get a VOA for 15 days" yep sorry Yrvas as lite beer says!

"A tourist visa will only provide a 30 day stay, that can be extended another 30 days, for his passport"

on further checking, http://www.thaiembassy.cz/Consular%20Infos/touristvisa51.pdf

section 5 not exceding 60 days, at any time

then

section 6 extention of stay 30 days but not exceeding 90,

so, would that give him 3 months? maybe a night or 2 laos then same again??

chris

yep think school sounds best!

No it would not. He is not from a group A country and does not obtain a 60 day stay on a tourist visa. He gets max of 30 days. Your quote from website is not specific to his passport, and that is why is says maximum of 60 days - in his case it will be 30 days.
