How will you do if you were me. I'm a poor Thai girl. I got a scholarship for study in Germany. The scholarship can't support all living cost.

Should I cancel the scholarship and continue study in Thailand? :S :o

I should keep studying English if I were you. It's already pretty good for a poor Thai girl. You could easily get a job as an interpreter or translator. Maybe then you could move out from underneath that bridge. :D

Without knowing your circumstances or the type of course, I would encourage you to take it if you can and take up part time work whilst in Germany to make up any shortfall in your living expenses.

What makes you think anonymous TV'ers can help you? Shouldn't you be talking about this with your teachers? Shouldn't you contact the scholarship agency instead of an online forum?

Which begs the question Jaja, why did you apply for something in the first place knowing full well that in the event you were chosen, you wouldn't have the means to go study there anyway?

If this is genuine, Jetset has made it clear what you should do.

Auf Wiedersehn pet.

While it's common for Thai students not to work while studying, it's not the same as in the West. Your scholarship may cover only your tuition, but it's entirely possible that your benefactors assume you will work to contribute towards your living expenses while studying under the scholarship.

Frankly, to both work and study in a foreign country is one of the best educations you can get. One educates you in the mind and the other educates you in real living in a new culture. A great combination.

I would suggest you write or contact the school and ask about work opportunities on campus or within the nearby community.

Some schools have special work programs for foreign students, or at least certain slots that are held for them in particular. You also might want to check about other grants and stipends to supplement you. Some of these are small, but they maybe available.

The other thing is you might want to check about a loan from here in Thailand. It may be available or there may be a gov't agency that can help sponsor your studies.

Best of luck to you.
