Ok, I am not expecting any one to know this one unless you work for the immagration or education depertment, but i will try anyway to ask

When a official is checking out a degree (to see if its fake or not), how do they do it, Now i hear they call the uni or school (but wont that be many calls to many school be expensive and time waisting due to soo many foreigners?) or since they taken most of Khosan Roads fake diplomas computers and records, do they use those as reference,

Just curious, I do not have a degree or anything, but i know where to get one that is not khosan and cost a bit more than khosan, but i hear so many bad things can happen if caught, I probley wont, but i just wanna know

thanx

Wow, Just what Thailand needs.

What if you got found out and they called the Police ?

Dunno what the charges are for fraud if the people that were conned found out but is it worth maybe jail time for something so dumb ?

I sincerely hope the OP will be found out and the police will be called!

Our kids deserve better than the likes of the OP.

Actually, most of us have no way of knowing how adept the officers are at spotting fake degrees. They must be good enough to find several per year, and deporting them after the fake degree holders have spent time in a Thai prison. Also, schools and fellow teachers have a good nose for smelling the shit under your feet if you say you have a degree but you do not. It is not fair to the children. Until recently, you did not always need a degree to teach, but the old era's rapidly fading.

Don;t try it.

Of course you won't, you were just asking.

For your next dare, Ask the cabin crew on lets say American Airlines what they would do if....... lets say for instance you had a bomb ...........

And then tell them that you "phrased" it wrong lol.

:o

Probably someone will delete my post but I couldn't resist.

Sorry

If I had the motivation I would write software to automate the process of checking up on qualifications, using a simple email to the relevant institution with a "click this link to confirm the qualification" sort of system, then sell it to the Thai government and retire. Mind you I expect they already thought of this.

Don't need to ring, can easily just email the institution in question, and verify if the degree is legit or not. Not really that hard or that bothersome these days. :o

I think that PB made the best comment about this "schools and fellow teachers have a good nose for smelling the shit under your feet if you say you have a degree but you do not"

Hopefully the honest ones will report the scumbags who do crap like this and let the Thai kids have half a chance at some kind of education rather that being preached too by some **** who decides that they are a teacher because it's an easy way to get a Visa.

The company I work for checks with the administration of the university which supposedly issued the degree. We usually fax or mail a copy of the document for verification. We used to operate on trust, but sadly times have changed.

The university queried really gets angry if it turns out to be a fake degree using their name. Rightly so, because it has happened more than once.

I think Thai government departments follow a similar procedure. It is very thorough.

If they were really, really doing it (for example, the way it is definitely done in Japan) they would have you sign a paper giving them permission to inquire, send a copy of that paper to your school, call them on the phone, verify the school's authenticity and verify the degree certification you presented. After doing a few thousand of these, they get pretty familiar with which universities are the real ones.

I seriously doubt it is done this way in Thailand, but it should be.

On the subject, i knew a guy who bought a boat and then needed a skippers licence...

a friend produced one in 24 hrs which passed the Thai authorities, of course it was in Thai and he decided to try for an english version, nothing to loose really. he sent it england who in turn sent him a real one back.

As for a degree, in the past you could enrole and then pay the university for degree, which is legit now the "english school" in phuket lost its certification due to this so they are tightening up on it.

i was employed in singapore not so long ago and they insisted on a copy for validation befor the work permit was granted.

in thailand, they are not worth shit so why check. i have had so thai masters degree employees who were thick as shit.

so now i just ask, can you do it, do you like football, ok you'll do.

If you do get a fake degree, you might want to consider polishing up your English skills first to make it a bit more believable.

You don't need permission to enquire, only to ask for specific info about a student's info. It's easy to fax or scan a copy and say "Is this one of yours?" Without mentioning the student's name it's easy for them to say that the degree is wrong because of the logo or font or wording. IME the Khaosarn ones are awful and they pay little attention to detail i.e. American English on British degrees, landscape rather than portrait etc.
