Mae Sai + Apec

Featured Replies

I'm newly relocated in Chiang Mai with a 90 day APEC card visa, and will need to exit next week. Mae Sai seems like a good road trip. I've never been before but I've read some earlier posts with useful information about what to expect. However I still have a couple questions about the journey:

1) Is the Mai Sai border freely open to westerners after the cyclone?

2) Can I use my APEC card as my visa when re-entering Thailand? Or rather, I assume I can, but will they give me hassle because it's not a traditional border crossing for an APEC cardholder?
