have always thought the sailing would be great on lake payao. the wind can really blow there.

I'm interested. It would be great to have a small boat our on a reservoir or lake - PM me if you get anywhere with your quest.

There are about 4 or 5 sailors down here in Hua Hin that sail their Walker Bay inflatable trailerable sailboats. They are often out on the lake here and sometimes on the ocean. The weigh about 2 or 300 pounds and are sold in Thailand. They are made in the US.

I've been looking for a Laser for years. Sailed one at Jomtien in 25 knots back around 2000 (wow, was that fun overtaking sailboards) and there were several on the beach at the time. now there is no sign of them. Would love to find one and a trailer. Only problem is that the wind appears to be too light on the inland lakes for some decent sailing.

Phayao is about 150 km from Chiang Mai. Go east out of Chiang Mai on Highway 118 heading towards Chiang Rai. Right turn onto Highway 120 at the junction in Mae Kachan. Left on Highway 1 at junction about 10 km south of Phayao. You'll be able to see the lake as you come down from the mountain on Highway 120 (assuming a clear day).
