My question is this for all you (s)experts :

Can you tell if "Dream Lady" is married or not from her ID card,

I was told by a "Friend (not dream lady)" that if this :"¹Ò§."     appears on her ID card then she's married.

Am i being dumb ? These don't look like thai characters to me,

is it because my computer font iss being dumb ?

Also "Dream Lady" has photo of herself in white wedding dress,

with many farang family around photos, ie. wedding ceremony.

Is there a scam where all the ceremony thing happens but the

marriage is not registered ? Could this be as "Dream Lady"

already married to Thai man so not allowed ?

Cheers for your help

Does "Dream Lady" have any sisters? :o

Seriously ( I think you know anyway) both points, point towards the fact she is/was married.

Does she say otherwise?

Can you post the piccie on here? :D

Yeah she has sister, but as far as I can see they look nothing like each other.

Can't place her ID photo on here as er it's in THailand, and I cannot think of a good enough blag for her to post it to me?

Wedding dress photo was with falang, sure they're aint

a scam like that ? How can I find out, I've tried embassy

but they'll only tell family (an my thai ain't that good to blag).

Still she is trying a visa application for a holiday next year to

UK, on there is a question about marriage, surely if I read that

I should be able to tell ?

Also if they let her come to UK on holiday then they wouldn't

if she was married to a french man would they ?

Cheers Chona,

When my fiancee ( wife now) applied , she had to show proof that she wasn't married , her husbands death certificate did the trick! I'm not sure that the Uk Embassy can check whether or not she has been married though, I don't think they have access to those records. If she's applying for a tourist visa I would imagine she would leave that detail out, and they won't check.

My wife had a kid by previous marriage, didn't put this on the application. Got visa eventually, a few years later we got her son a visa, the Embassy never questioned why it wasn't mentioned before.

The ID card won't really help much. If she has been married

legally and signed papers at the ampur office then she is supposed to change the name on her ID card.

It used to be that she had to take her husbands surname but I think they changed that law now.

Any way she changes from a Miss (narng sow) to a Mrs (narng) this will show if she has been married legally in the past but does not mean that she is married now.

Also she may be unofficially married   ???

just a village ceremony as happens very often in the sticks, with no need to sign any papers and no need to change the ID card but she will still be considered very much married in her village and to her huband    but not in the eyes of the law.

how do I post a jpg file here  :o

I want to put Miss and Mrs in thai for you to compare.

John G, i think you need to press the image button then have

the image stored somewhere on the web, try asking

"spellbound" he's got loads of stuff on his replies.

Best of Luck

They are Thai characters - you have to choose Thai encoding on your browser.

The letters are Nor Noo - Sala Ah - Ngor Ngoo (nuhng) means Mrs.

....but they can always pay some place for change the paper to their advantage. But why is she afraid to tell you the truth?

Don't know, she says she is telling the truth. She's also told me she's gonna bloody do the guy in good and proper if she ever goes to France ! (Bloody frogs aye!)
