Gprs Packages

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am not sure, but according to my knowledge there are no packages for GPRS available which are based on data volume. All the offers I know specify the time usage.

The issue is, that I would like to use a push mail service to my mobile, which basically keeps the mobile connected all the time.

I know that AIS has a unlimited package for 1000 Baht a month, but that is a bit too expensive imho.

Any tips?

Cheers

That works if you download your emails, but if you use an push E-Mail Client like Emoze, this will keep your phone connected to the service all time.

Apparently there are no Data Volume packages available in TH. Maybe this will change with the 3G introduction. Let's see.

Word on the street is that TrueMove costs 12 satang per KB for EDGE but is only available in Bangkok.

I am on dtac's 140MB for 399 Baht a month if I recall correctly.

as I am about to buy a SOLOMON-EDGE-MODEM within the next few days, I did some research on whats on offer. thats the recent situation:

DTAC obviously has (its written in Thai and my reading skills are still rather rudimentary) a MB-based option at 99 Baht for 30 MB, or 399 baht for 140 MB each month. though, that seems to be available for POSTPAID customers only. from what I understand from that flyer that I grabbed just last night from their Suwannaphum-outlet, they dont offer any MB-based options for PREPAID customers.

AIS had a printed flyer as well, but seems they dont have any MB-based option, no matter prepaid or postpaid. at least in that flyer I grabbed from Suwannaphum last night as well, there is no such option. but they offer the 999 baht/flatrate for prepaid-custumers too, whereas DTAC only offers that for POSTPAID customers. as a DTAC-prepaid customer, the most u can get is 100 hours at 350 THB.

after u consumed your prepaid-hours, both providers charge 1 THN per MINUTE which is quite expensive.

I hope that helped, and if I understood something wrong, please correct me....
