Electrical Hardware Shops

Hi Guys

I'm trying to find somewhere in Pattaya that sells electrical hardware items - breaker boxes, safe-t-cut switches and the like. Homeworks, HomePro, HomeMart all have a pretty limited selection but not quite what I'm looking for. I really need to find somewhere that specialises in house-wiring hardware. Any suggestions?

On Pattaya Tai, just up from Friendship Supermarket going towards Sukumvit. The Electrical shop is on the left, has a blue sign above the door but can't tell you the name as it's all written in Thai, loads of electrical items on display anyway, so hard to miss. The guy there is great and can speak english. He has everything. He rewired my whole house.

Thanks for that. I'll take a look - sounds like just the place I need.

There is also Numchai2, on the right hand side going north on Naklua road, around 200 meters before the intersection with Sawang Fa road (that is the road where the post office is). There is a big Philips sign outside. NB: It is NOT the Numchai store on the corner, they sell consumer electronics.

To my great dismay, I saw that my favourite store for all sorts of hardware, electrical and odds & ends has been flattened recently, awaiting yet another mall or resort or whatever. It was the one diagonally across from Foodland, run by a family of (at least!) four generations. The two girls there would always figure out what you wanted, dive into the dungeons and emerge some minutes later with stuff you would NEVER find at Homepro et al. OK; a bit dusty, dark and hot in there amongst the aisles, but a tresure trove of STUFF!

Development can sometimes be a sad affair...

They didn't disappear!

They moved a few hundred meters, if you walk from their old location towards Sukhumvit, they are 50 meters past Wattana computer store!

About how far towards Sukhumvit is this shop Josky? Can you give me a little bit more precise location please? Can you let us know the cost of rewiring your house approximately? Like how large is the house, etc.? I need to get one of my shophouses rewired completely. It is 4 or 5 stories (depending upon how you count floors) and needs complete rewiring from the electric meter in. All the old wiring is in the walls. I'm assuming that on a building this old, it will need to be rewired with the new wires (and conduit if they use that) needs to be on the outside of the walls since I think you would have to tear down the old building completely to put the wiring inside the walls? Thanks in advance for any info.
