Because you don't get a letter in the post everyday saying you have been caught by a speed camera, in a bus lane, issued a parking fine, missed congestion charge payment and everything else that drains you of you hard earned money...

For me its the laidback attitude, less worries , the food, the smiles you never see back home, and ofcourse the climate , my health needs it .

I like the timelessness of Thailand, and my life in that timelessness. However, if I were you, I would have changed my name before asking a question like that. Here in Thailand, particularly. Maybe you should add a picture, so people can see why you chose that particular name.

i chose that name because

when i set out on anything, i anticipate a happy ending

regardless

back to the topic ...

beer in a supermarket

cant get it my old country

riding down the wrong side of the road at night

no helmet, no light, no license

and the bib waves and says hello

where else but thailand

$$$$$$$$$$$

You don't need a license, you need a psychiatrist. :o

Back on topic;

The food, the girls, the islands andmy nieces and nephews.

Not necessarily in that order... :D

The Beach

The Smiles

The Climate

The food

The scenery

The People

Watching the kids play

The cost of living

If you don't want to do something it is easy to get it done for a few baht.

You can smile at someone and they don't think you are a pervert for doing so.

Enjoying life.

The lack of taxes.

Good Medical.

Inexpensive medical.

almost everything, but mainly the attitude towards worries, the food, the easy access to food at any time, the markets, the cost of living, the scenery, ....... and the fact that I actually feel so much better than in my country of origin !

ok, a topic that looks on the bright side

[whingers need not apply - save it for another topic]

we are all here because thailand holds an interest of some sort

so what is it?

what do you like about this place ???

for me

i like the way you can go to the markets or the beach

leave everything in your bikes basket

and when you come back - its all still there - including the bike

i once saw money left in a bikes basket and no-one went near it

wouldnt happen in most countries around the world

a certain respect there

over to you...

PATTAYA - IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR :o

easier to crawl down the bike lane on the right, then turn right

my psychiatrist tells me not to conform

go against the flow was the advice

i applied it to traffic

Loy Krathong, the most exciting festival week ever.

Watching the monsoon clouds roll in at 4 PM almost everyday in season.

Motorcycle riding up any mountain.

Hilltribes and their colorful dress.

Thai massage

People mind their own business.

A smile gets a smile back.

No bulk mail

Very short phone calls

and the parking lot guys with the whistles :o Ya gotta

luv em.

All of the above too. Thailand is a mind trip for us.

Please don't tell anyone, lets keep it our secret.
