June 9, 200818 yr Hi To All My wife's mother is staying with us in UK for 6 months on a family visitor visa. We were thinking of taking the family over to Spain or Portugal for a few weeks holiday including the Mother-In-Law and wanted to know if it is possible to get a shengen visa for her to come with us. If anyone has any info: it would be appreciated. Thanks.

If she is already in the Uk, the best thing would be to contact the Spanish Embassy in London. You may be able to telephone them or send them an e-mail and ask them for help. They may say to you that she should have applied in Thailand. You can then explain that the idea only came up since she has arrived in the UK. If your wife's mother is still in Thailand at present, she should submit an application with the Spanish Embassy in Bangkok. You/she will likely have to provide the required evidence of why she wishes to go to Spain. Although that seems obvious to us, the Embassy may not see it that way. In my personal opinion I think you stand a better chance of success by applying whilst she is in the UK. Although this is not the complete answer, I hope it helps. Good Luck, FRM-UK now Bangkok.
June 9, 200818 yr Author thanks FRM for the quick answer. she is with us currently in UK but I will contact the Spanish embassy here in London as you mentioned. Thank you for the help.
