I've downloaded two forms. One is from the Thai immigration office website, and the other is from the conulate in the US.

However, I can't see any options on either that will make my request for a 60-day versus 30-day multiple entry tourist visa.

I'm going to be in the are for 6 months and I want to make sure i can be in the country as long as i need to be...

Also, side question. If I get a 60-day stamp and only spend 30 days in thailand before leaving to Laos or something (lets say for 30 days), will the remaining 30 days left on that stamp be available for use? or is teh 60-day stamp a consecutive day-to-day window?

I'm 22 and live in the US btw.

thanks for the help!

A Tourist Visa gives you 60 days and can be extended for a further 30 days at any Immigration Office in Thailand. You could probably get a double entry.

If you leave then your Visa becomes finished.

What you really need is a Non Imm O Multi Entry Visa. As to being able to get one in the US? Maybe one of your countrymen will let us know.

You will have to come with some kind of Visa from a Consulate as the airline may not let you on the flight.

When you are hear you can always go to Laos and come back and get a 30 day entry stamp. Or get another Visa in Laos.

You have a few options.

Just tick Tourist Visa and how many entries you want.

1. A tourist visa on an American passport allows a 60 day stay. You can request a 1, 2 or perhaps 3 entry at most Consulates. Often this will be provided in a six month valid time but it could be the normal 3 months so you need to check after visa issued to be sure you use before expiration date for any entry. If you provide an itinerary it may help to insure the proper time is issued.

2. There is no such thing as a 30 day multi entry tourist visa. There is 30 day visa exempt entry into Thailand but that is not a visa and you obtain on entry and not from Consulate.

3. Thai Immigration has nothing to do with tourist visa issue so don't know where/what you have downloaded but it is not valid if from Immigration - use download from Consulate or Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
