melonf
I use Maxnet Indy, and other than the follwoing problem it is generally working well However I have been suffering from hanging pages that eventually reset (ie timeout) in the very last authorisation step of transactions with my Nationwide home banking. lso Netbanx Verified by Visa step for internet credit card transactions fail similarly When I noticed that I was also blocked from logging into Paypal, I got suspicious of Maxnet and tried a dial up connection from True. Everything was perfect. Does anybody know whether there is anything special used by highly secure bank transactions that moves into an area blocked by Maxnet? Eg does https have deep secure protocols or ports that are blocked. (Most https works fine) Has anybody else noticed similar?

Thanks Reimar My observations to date are IExplorer 6, Firefox 1.5 both repeatably not working with Maxnet on some secure protocols Firefox 1.5 working fine on True Dial Up for the same secure protocols Perhaps I should upgrade the browsers anyway but I dont think the answer lies there Edited June 11, 2008 by melonf

And update the Browser please because your Firefox is very old already. May you download the latest Beta, the Firefox 3 RC2 from HERE and/or the latest version of Opera from HERE Check again but if you use a proxy that may force that problem. This you have to cross check with your Bank as well. Cheers.

harrydash
Go to Network Connections, right click on Local Area Connection for properties. In General tab if you have a box called QoS Packet Scheduler uncheck or disable it. Reboot and try again.

I have no obvious proxies running although I have Tor installed but turned off Yes I have QoS enabled. I will try disabling it and report back. Sounds promising. Many thanks
damole
I had a similar problem with Nationwide online banking which was solved by changing the MTU value in my router to 1400. If you search this forum for you'll see some posts regarding this problem.

Thanks again I tried MTU = 1452 as suggested in some of the postings you mention and it at least gets me logged on to Paypal which I couldn't before. Next I will test Nationwide home banking

I’ve never had any probs and dl is steady 1800-1900 kbps.
