Best/cheapest Way To Get A One Year Visa

Featured Replies

In people's opinions, what's the best/cheapest way to getting a one year visa when in LoS.

I've been here for 2 years plus, most of which on a renewable non-imm B - which was lost due to other people's (my employers) incompetence.

I'm on visa runs which I'm alergic to... so what are they best/cheapest ways of just getting a 1 year visa - I've seen (mainly from sponsors of this site) 1 year visa packages from educational visas at about 28,000 Baht, to non-Bs at about 6,500 Baht - which seems a very good deal - but suspect (and have just enquired) you need all sorts of business set up costs and other legal stuff to become eligable for it. I don't know.

So in people's opinions what's the best way of going from Tourist Visas to a one year visa?

PS - I'm 28 years old.

The first thing is to state where you come from but for the sake of this argument I will assume you are from the UK.

The easiest option is to return to the UK and get a non imm "O" visa from Hull. You can do it and be back in LOS in 48 hours. Cost something like 50k.

Go to Oz. Their consulates and Embassy state in emails that they will issus non imm visas quite easily but you have the flight costs and some accommodation costs as well. Cost something like 40-50k.

Setting up a business is way to expensive.

Marry a Thai and bring in 40k per month or pay tax on 40k per month. Cost about 35k per year.

Continue on tourist visas with dual entries from Vientianne. Costs about 40k per year.

Another option which is legal but is frowned upon here by people who don't know what they are talking about is sending your pasport back from a country outside LOS. Thus, exist LOS and Fed Ex your passport to a mate in the UK who gets you the visa and Fed Ex's your passport back to you. You return to LOS on a new non imm visa. Total cost about 15-20k per annum.

Moved to the Thailand visas and residency sub-forum.

Scouse.
