Featured Replies

Hello,

I will buy a house in the name of my girl friend (i know is not a good idea), but i would like to have all the bills in my name... i need the bills for some companies i'm working with.

Can i own the home but not the land ? Can i have the bills in my name ?

I won't comment on how bad an idea is that but no you can't own the home unless it is mobile home and thus moveable. Bills in your own name maybe easier with a deposit but they will likely want to see passport / visa / bank stuff.

I tell you what, buy me a house in my wife's name and you won't have to worry about having a place to stay. Just make it a 3 bedroom so we can have our own space.

Yes you can own the building (house) on the land, movable or immovable. You need to register the house in your name at your local land office.

Sorry not sure about bills.

Hey

Regarding the utility billls: it is feasable as long as you go to the different department with the owner. I have done it.

Furthermore I don't see why that wouldn't be possible as a number of people rent places and pay the bills in their names

At least, that is what I would do, if I were to let a flat (as I wouldn't be willing to get stuck with their bills)
