I am iterested in learning the guitar, absolute beginner, but have the guitar ready (accoustic). Wondering if there is anyone willing to do an exchange. I can teach Japanese, English. If not then where should I go to get lessons, any reccommends??

There are many music schools out there. I'm sure the rates are competitive. You could always ask the music teachers if they would be willing to do private classes in exchange for language lessons. Seems like a fair trade. Check out the thai magazine appropriately called 'The Guitar Magazine' (MAG) for guitar lessons and music schools. Great resource.

What type of acoustic guitar do you have? A steel string acoustic may be painful at first, but it will toughen up your fingers in no time.

Ive been hacking it out (yes with steel strings) for a few weeks now on my own, took the advise to find an online course, thought I might reccomend it here, no this is not a commercial plug, the site is free, unless you want to throw him a donation, but I think its great, got me going

This beginners course starts at the very beginning. After the first 10 lessons on basic chords and strumming you can move onto other area on guitars. You can many youtube videos online stores and many websites who will provide good lessons on how to play guitar.
