Mango-Guy
I'm wondering if I will be able to use my UK mobile in Bangkok simply by getting a Thai SIM card? I know the phone works out there on the UK SIM. If this is possible, does anyone have any recommendations on where to get a Thai SIM card, and how much they cost? My preference would be for a Pay-As-You-Go type card which I could top up from time to time. Are these available? Would I need to "register my handset" with the service provider? Thanks. BIG SPUDS
I had a uk sim on my first visit to thailand. Changed the sim for a 1 2 call sim (Pay as you go) And 300 baht credit for 450 baht. Dont know if there was a problem with my phone at first (unable to accept thai sim) but for 150 baht problem was sorted. Simple answer to your question is YES!!! cojones
its quite simple you go down to MBK , up to the phones sales floor (3) , get it unlocked for maybe 150 bahts , then you purchase the SIM there too , big selection for many prices depending on the number sequence . they will do the whole job for you , test it as well . no reg or anything like that . 12-call is a good service . astral
Check your phone is not "Locked" to one provider. You will not be able to get a post paid account here, only prepaid like 12Call or DPrompt. For calls home dial 008 44 etc, this uses a voice over IP system and is the cheapest.
