Just notified and installed important update to 3.0.1 for Firefox. Suspect has something to do with the current DNS crisis. There have also been 3 important updates to Vista in the last 24 hours.

I believe that's a "candidate" release for now - final is due for release 16 July.

Could be as after install was led to the beta page. But had a toolbar pop up on boot saying there was an important update and used Firefox to check for updates and it came up and downloaded.

It didn't fix a problem I have since change from beta to release 3 where every time I close Firefox it believes there has been a crash and offers to send report.

I ended up un-installing the beta and installing a fresh FF3 after odd problems after update. That made most oddities go away.

Thanks - found a copy of Firefox 2 that had not been removed and seem to be able to close Firefox 3 without it thinking it has crashed now.

Still holding with FF2 at this point.
