but i have to much time on my hands i guess, dont work, dont need to work and maybe never will need to in the future! im doing ok at 31 years old not 12!!

Perhaps a poll on why some people on forums like this are unable to resist the temptation, however out of context, to tell us how well they think are doing, might be of more interest?

1) They are people who are insecure about themselves and feel the need to talk themselves up.

2) They are people who are self-satisfied, big-headed and looking to gloat at any oppurtunity.

3) They are simply lying or exaggerating to bolster their low confidence level.

I would say all of the above. To tell a bunch of strangers on an internet forum that they 'maybe' wil never have to work again is just embarrassing and sad.But with posts like this he really should go out and do something with his life.

Oh please give it a rest, i wasnt gloating at all, if you look at all my previous posts on this forum i havent gloated at all! Im just stating a FACT, I have to much time on my hands maybe i will have to work again nobody really knows the future, anyway everyone keeps saying how sad i am to start a poll like this, but isnt it simple to understand why? Go read the thread i used to be a farang but now i am kon thai!! If you read it, it ended up as a topic about starbucks, kfc and thai food and its not that difficult to understand is it? i stated this clearly on the opening post of this nonsense topic,to be honest also im not even interested in this topic the only reason i am replying is to stand up to myself! Please everyone who is trying to insult me, dont take life to serious, Thailand in general is meant to be about fun, If you do really want to insult me then please pm me so we can arrange to meet then if you really wanna insult me you can in real. Lets stop the crap.

You need to go read my the other thread to comprehend what is going on!!

I prefer Home Pro.

The problem with that is that you get 12 members of staff follow you into the restaurant to make sure you dont steal the knives and forks. :o

Kentucky Fried Kitten in Thailand, to me always taste so bad, the chicken is always so dry and just tastes fowl (geddit?) :o

Only ever been into a starbuck twice in my life and that was because a friend dragged me inside, always feels like im walking onto the set of a Friends episode.

So there isnt really any competition really, Thai food wins everytime, kao mun gai, phad kee mao etc...and the amount of money i spend on a KFC meal, i can almost buy 3 thai meals.

Thai food is OK, but how can it be compared with kfc a food chain from USA which has no history on food at all.

I have never been in Starbucks so I have no opinion on it.

To compare it must be: thai food versus italien or swedish or british or whatever.

Whats the next poll? do you prefer seven/eleven or shopping in USA?

I previously started a thread on here about if any members knew any farang who thought they were thai? But as the thread wore on it ended up as a topic about Starbucks, KFC and Thai food!!

So carry on the topic on here! LOL

Which one do you prefer!

Please vote now!

:o What you didn't watch "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer".?

Don't you know that the portal to hel_l is located in the basement of a Starbucks?

That's where all the demons and vampires enter to attack our earth!

If Buffy says it, it must be true.

Well I am a McDonalds person myself--and Burger King. It's hard to vote because I don't like any of them, and at the same time I like all of them. I love a decent cup of coffee and Starbucks is pretty good. If it's between the crap at the food court in Big C or KFC, then it's KFC, not by choice, but by default.

Thai food is usually too spicy for me, but that said, Sweet and Sour Chicken (Pork or Fish) and Chicken and Cashew Nuts has to be some of the best food on Earth!

I guess some of us will vote on anything--hey, how do you think BKK got to be the number 1 city!

The USA has no food history? Oh no, you didn't!

Your statement is just ignorant. Would an American confuse Wimpys for historic British cuisine? Americans can't help it if their burger chains have better marketing.

America can't have any food history (beside maybe the Indians) because it is a new country.

Ballocks. So is Brazil. So is Mexico. And on and on.

I know this is the ignorant dogma of Europeans. But they are simply wrong on that point. I will concede one point. Based on my historical reading, early American cuisine was bloody awful, for alot of reasons. But there is most definitely a rich history, and most definitely a distinctive national cuisine, with some incredibly rich regional variations such as Cajun, Creole, New England, Northwestern, Southern/soul food, BBQ, Chesapeake coastal, Southwestern, Tex-Mex, etc. etc. And yes, the foods of the Indians were a big part of the development of the cuisine, as well as a huge contribution to cuisines all over the world.

BTW, I am not saying American food history/cuisine is the "best" in the world by any means. That is a matter of taste. I would probably vote for both China and France for that honor. But for food lovers, most can find good stuff from all over the world, even the Philippines (sorry Pinoys)!

Mmmmmm! Tortured chicken!

Yes, without proper torturing, the chicken has a bland taste.

People actually eat in Starbucks? I thought the dried up salads and pastries they have in there were just for decoration???

The next poll will be shiny red bicycle, Toyota Yaris, or one of the cars that Mercedes makes.

Yes there are some things, but it is more a smart combination of other cultures.

I must admit I am biased.......

Going in a expensive (for european means) restaurants in NY, a nice place for the locals, having just burgers and I only found such places. Never saw a "American cuisine" but to admit I was there just a couple of weeks. So that might be just a personal experience, that I just found bad overpriced places.

My favorites for food would be Italien, Austrian, Germans (their sausages/bread/beer), India and England (I don't like all their food, but it is something special), China.

And well yes in terms of food, we europeans are ignorant....but it is a good thing. Just as example because I know this area best: In Austria, if I drive the car 100 km East, West, South, North: I'll find everywhere say 20 dishes which I don't know, never heard about before. They are not mainstream anymore, but some small restaurant still offer it. They are not common anymore since 150 years, but still someone cook them sometimes.

Just think brewery in weihenstephan started 1040 and they still work and you can read what people ate there, you can find the cooking receipts. It is hard to read and very strange. (I read the royal dishes a few hundred years ago and that sounds like Aliens amounts of fat no one would believe).

Thats a history of food. But of course it does not help if there are 5.000 different cheese, if 98 % of the market is dominated by 50 different styles.

Made me laugh.

A fortnight in NYC, an expert you're not. And if that is all you found you weren't really looking, even being limited to NYC, which of course isn't that limited, because you can find everything there. I would suggest San Francisco the next time, better prices and at least the equal to NYC in food culture. Again, not saying US food culture is the best, or the oldest (of course not) or that you have to like it, just that there is one and it is not defined by fast food burgers and chicken.

Here is an example of a New American cuisine menu from the famous (but not now trendy) Gramercy Tavern in NY. I had the best fish dish in my life there back when it was new and trendy, a roasted halibut. It couldn't have been more American:

Well I won't go to USA anymore as I might be on the watchlist. I sent a product which is legal in Thailand and Canada to Canada and it got seized by homeland security in USA.........

But the best fish....I tell you what! I don't like fish and I am no expert on that, but I ate fish for 2 weeks every day at dinner.

Guess where....Koh Lipe in Thailand. From the Sea Gypsies. hack into pieces put on the wood or coal fire and eat.

just a piece on the barbecue the best I ever got.

Got once the luck to be able to buy a old race of pig, very different than the pork you buy in the supermarket. Whatever you make in the kitchen it will be good.
