Looking for some Kohn Kane hotel choices. Strongly prefer a nice swimming pool. 1000 baht a night with a weekly rate would be acceptable. I have only been to Bangkok , Pattaya and Ko Samet so far. Time to start foraging further.

The only two hotels I know which have decent pools:

Sofitel 3,000-4,000 baht/night

Princess Charoen Thani 1,500-2,500 baht/night

The Kosa is okay with a small pool but the rooms etc are generally a little run down. There is a very nice new hotel, the Busarakham, near the bus station, that is excellent except that it does not have a pool. This is within your budget. Otherwise, if you don't mind being on the edge of town, there are a couple of resorts with pools. Chuda resort on the ring road west of the City is less than 1000 per night, while the new resort near the airport is a bit over this. These have pools. See the Isaan section and also the KhonKaen.com website.

Princess Charoen Thani usually has amazing deals during low season. stayed there in May and paid 1.200 THB a night, including breakfast. several floors have WIFI now too. free covered parking. Pool not too big but still okay and rarely patronized by other hotel-guests.

but: you have to call them BY YOURSELF, not book online. ask for the promotion rate and they will certainly tell you.

they had another cheap rate for Royal-orchid-Plus members, which was 1.400 THB a night and earn 500 Miles per stay.

Ratchawadee. Hotel. Great rooms and a nice swimming pool. 1,200 Baht a night.

Near the airport so about 10 k outside of Khon Kaen. Only 15 months old.
