Brick Wall On Media Visa

Featured Replies

Dear All,

I am currently seeking a media visa as i have been offered a job with a media firm in Thailand, I am currently living in Cambodia. The company told me to take the letters they had sent me to the consulate here and they woudl forward them to MOFA in BK and then after a week I would get the visa, pending interviews etc in BK.

But the Thai embassy here says it cannot take my letters as they need to recieve a letter from the MOFA first, I understand that the company sent a letter about me to the MOFA over two months ago.

The MOFA website says that the consulate should foward the docs to them, but the consulate is refusing to accept them until it gets a letter from the MOFA, so at the moment there is nothing I can do.

The Thai embassy has told me to phone the MOFA in Bangkok but Ive got no idea how to do that, they wouldnt even give me a number to phone.

God what can i do??

Thanks a lot for help in advance

Depending on your role within the media company is might be easier for you to avoid the media visa route. Try a job title such as 'English Languaue Manager' or something similar. You would probably need the media visa (and accreditation) if you plan to be interviewing politicians or high-ranking officials, but other than that it's unlikely to prove beneficial. Good luck.
