Shopping Centers In Krabi

Featured Replies

I know that there is a Tesco Lotus open already in Krabi. What other shopping malls are there, and what else is planned?

Is a Central Festival, Carrefour and a Big C planned or already under contruction as well? I read somewhere last year that they had already dedicated a site in Krabi town for a Central Festival, but don't remember where I read that.

There is now a Big C and Home Pro on the same road not far from Tesco.

There is also a Macro but not sure where that is.

:o

Makro is on the Krabi-Phuket road - got some great stuff in there too. dam_n, you just made me hungry

i heard that Central will be building too, oh and Carrefour.

It is great to have Tesco Lotus, BigC (jointly owned by the French Casino Group and Central) and Makro in Krabi, but if you look at the product line (Tesco Lotus and BigC) it is obvious that foreign food is limited and more expensive than Phuket as well. Both shopping centre do mainly focus on the local Thai market and even the Major Multiplex cinema at Tesco Lotus is only in Thai language.

Have a close look and you notice that the crowds in both shopping centers are small and therefore I really have my doubts that another shopping center will open soon.

Very intersting Soontorn, useful information.

I wouldn't have thought it, no English movies and different product range than Tesco and Big C Phuket, good to know.

even the Major Multiplex cinema at Tesco Lotus is only in Thai language.

not true, i have seen a couple of (thai) movies there with english subtitles. not sure about the farang films, didn't pay attention, but i assume they would be in english with thai subtitles.

I was actually talking about foreign movies that are only in Thai language, no English soundtrack.

hm maybe, but if they bother to put english subs on the thai films than i am sure there is an english version of the farang films too.

:o it is a free world and you can think, assume and be sure of whatever you want...... not my problem :D

Did they open a Central Department store in Krabi yet?

I can't see a Central opening in Krabi for a long time which is a massive shame.....would you rent a unit at Central in Krabi?

As Big C now own Carrefour there won't be one of them either.

There is a new retail centre being built in Krabi on the river road........or so i hear anyway....beware the grape vine
