There are also cat breed magazines available in large bookstores (thai language only) that will advertise breeders in the back of the mag

Pet quality (30,000B)

Breeder quality (45,000B)

I looked into bringing Bengals out from Australia four years ago. The price was around AU$2-3000 per kitten (did not include shipping to Thailand). Of course, price depends what type you get and from where, but that was the ballpark I was considering.

Thanks Desi. I was guessing 20k for the pet but not surprised with the figures you quote. Beautiful creatures and would love to have one but will pursue siamese for the time being.

That's exactly the route I went. And I loved having a Siamese but she didn't get along with my Shorthairs so I ended up finding her a cherished home. And with two Shorthairs, I really don't want another cat anyway (it's the kitty litter problem). May my SH's live a long and happy life... but I'd really, really love a Bengal...

first of all, sorry for the late reply and thank you all so much for your advice and help. I just returned from Singapore and would have to say I dont read or write thai. I tried locating some breeders in Bangkok and Im astounded at the price I would have to pay for a Bengal. Still considering if I would like to pay 40k for a Bengal as a pet, if Im able to locate a breeder in UK to ship down which might costs lesser then I might go ahead in getting one from UK instead. Only problem is Im just worried about transporting them to Thailand (travelling hours are long). Nevertheless appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks alot

female breeder for sale on Pantip

no price....

Oz

This is a bit late, but anyway...

I bought a bengal in BKK from Danesha in the Ozono complex suk 39. www.ozono.us

He was 45k, but got him at 37k - "bargain" ;-) This was before I started volunteering at SCADbangkok.org, where you can adopt up an equally as healthy and cute kitten in perfect health for 0 baht!

Anyway, even though I has since decided that I disagree with the hybrid breeding process (the F1-5s with their behavioural issues etc) I do love my cat to pieces and find the challenging bengal character endearing - though it IS challenging and not recommended for those who want a quiet, lazy cat. Not all bengals are the same but they are known for being inquisitive, noisy and in your face - kind of like the really smart ADD kid who gets bored really easily. Lovely cat, but even now, as I am typing this he's all up in my grill being bitey and trying to get my attention.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have Bengal Cats for sale. I had fallen in love with these cats years ago and went into research into finding Breeders in Bangkok. I decided to purchase three cats at 30,000 Baht a piece. One Spotted Leopard Male and female and one Marbled Female. Although the cats did not have papers it is obvious to anyone who has done research on the cats that they are pure bred and I did get an excellent price on the cats even though they wanted considerably more and it took me three months to get the 30,000 Baht price. I have young untrained Marbled and Spotteds available at prices starting at 25,000 Baht. I can be reached at**no emails per forum rules --please PM poster*** or (081) 801-3724

I Googled Bengal Cats Thailand and got this hit from The International Bengal Society:

http://www.tibcs.com/breedersearch.aspx?1=...d&2=Country

Surprisingly, there is an incredible example of this breed which lives in a dumpster near my house. I've yet to photograph her, but she exhibits all the traits you would look for in a typical Bengal, ear set, head type, body conformation, coloring, etc. I am sure she's just a domestic shorthair whose mother carried the gene which partially blocked the tabby stripping giving rise to the blotchy (spotted) pattern sought after in Bengals.

This being thailand I would be hesitant to take much of what is said by any breeder at face value. As a buyer you have little if any recourse. Due diligence is the key in your quest for this cat breed..

Good Luck

Good point. So those who have never seen a Bengal, just know that Bengals are just so different, so amazing, so filled with life, so NOT moggies. Once you've seen one, you'll never mistake it for a regular cat.

What you have to watch out for when picking your Bengal from the litter, is that it's not too wild. A growling kitten might be cute in the shop, but I believe it's a sign of too much wild and not enough moggie.

(I just dumped my movs from a trip to a Bengal litter. A pity really, as I'd share how amazing these cats really are)
