Cabinet backs TOT's 3G business plan

BANGKOK: -- The Cabinet Tuesday approved in principle the 3G business plan of TOT as proposed by the Information and Communications Technology Ministry.

TOT will now submit the plan for the approval of the National Economic and Social Development Board and the Public Debt Management Office.

TOT will assign its cellular operator joint venture ACT Mobile to invest in the 3G network roll-out worth Bt29 billion during 2009-2011. The project targets breaking even within seven years.
