Having been here for a number of years, I didn't think there would be much to surprise or scare me.

Nevertheless, after a morning walk on the beach and waiting for the sorng tairo (sic) to take me home, I noticed a snake about 5 ft from me. I'm used to them on golf courses, so didn't move. It took its time and tried to cross the road, when it was almost run down. Don't know if it was "friendly" or not, but reckon that added to the afternoon's fun.

Enjoying myself on tv, decided to get more beers, which necessitates a tricky walk over the main road dodging the traffic heading back to Bangkok.

In the middle of the road. Suddenly, I realise there's an almighty convoy of big police vehicles moving quickly towards me. It was a Royal convoy.

Well, the last car decided to make one lane three and I hadn't much choice but to move forward nearly into the path of an oncoming cement lorry. It was close.

So, after a lazy Sunday afternoon, should I attempt fate again or just stay indoors tonight?

I'm enjoying the beer now.
