I am trying to find out how to get information about getting satellite tv in a condo in Bangkok.

Where can I get information about this? Is there a dealer in Bangkok that can help me?

How difficult is it to set up?

How big a dish is needed?

How much does it cost?

Many thanks,

-q

Free to Air Receivers in Thailand?

Stateside we can buy them on ebay for <150 usd

If you download the proper files on the net you can put in a usb drive and bang the file into receivers usp port and its same same subscription card and opens many birds for free including sat radio on appropriate birds, and PPV too! For 100 usd you can also get a dish rotor that is controlled from the receivers remote so just by switching channels, the antenna zaps seamlessly to another bird and you have your channel unlocked. Anything like that here? Equipment is made both in Korea and China. ViewSat Ultra is a common brand

some info here http://www.totalfta.com/

and receivers on ebay here

UBC is broadcast on IRDeto2 which doesnt have key codes like your talking about. Astro from Malaysia is on Seca2 if memory serves, again a dynamic encryption where static keys wont work in that way.

The magic word you need to search for is 'cardshare' but you need a 100% reliable ADSL / internet connection.. Sometimes possible but sometimes not depending on where you live.

Dreambox clones can be found for under 4k baht..
