Do I Need A Reference Person In Thailand For A Double Entry Tourist Visa? And A Couple Of Other Q's

Do you need a reference person in Thailand for a double entry tourist visa or what do you put down on the form?

Also someone on this forum said double entry tourist visas are only valid for 3 months but in the useful immigration information and descriptions it says its valid for 6 months, I'm assuming 6 months is correct?

Also for length of stay what to I put? the length of my roundtrip ticket (170 days for example if I plan on staying 5 and a half months) or should I put the length of the visa (6 months despite the fact I'm only staying 5 and a half) just to be safe?

For a double entry tourist visa, you don't need a reference person, Some forms ask for a sponsor or similar wording, just put in self.

The validity (use before date) depends on the embassy/consulate, in Europe they are normally valid for 6 months.

Length of stay, just fill in the 170 days.

As somebody else said, it depends on the embassy/consulate. The only double-entry tourist visa I have ever had was from the Thai embassy in Bern, Switzerland and was valid only for 90 days. that was 18 years ago and probably has no relevance to what the same embassy is doing today. (Over the years I also had from the same embassy five single-entry tourist visas, one of which was valid for 90 days, two for 6 months, and two for 180 days)

Different embassies/consulates use different application forms. I don’t know what consulate’s form you are looking at but taking the form of the Thai embassy in Washington DC as an example I would fill in the first three blanks in section 4 as follows:

Just to be safe, I would enclose a covering letter saying that I need a double-entry tourist visa valid for 180 days. Please note that nobody will later compare your actual travel dates and lengths of stay with the information you gave on your visa application.
