I have held a non-immigrant 'B' visa and work permit for the past 6 years or so.

I recently got married - my wife is Vietnamese (if that makes any difference)

We're now looking to arrange a long-stay visa for her (we're currently pissing money away for her monthly visa-runs to HCMC)

Believe she should be eligible for a Non-Immigrant 'O' visa as my dependent?

My employers have advised that they will pay for my wife's visa and the company's visa consultant will handle everything in Thailand for us.

However my understanding is that the initial application for a non-immigrant 'O' visa must be made outside of Thailand (where they will give a 3 month visa initially that can then be extended in Thailand)

Have I got anything wrong so far???

Assuming not, what documents will my wife need to provide when applying for the initial non-immigrant 'O' visa (likely at Thai Consulate, HCMC)?

1. Her passport

2. Her Vietnamese ID card (probably not necessary?)

3. Completed application form

4. Medical certificate (issued in Vietnam) showing she does not have any of the "prohibitive diseases" as specified on MFA website

5. Marriage certificate

6. Copy of my passport

7. Copy of my work permit

Anything else?

As my dependent is there any proof of income requirement?

Thanks in advance for assistance

I can't really advise on all the requirements as my company does it all but the first non-imm O had to be applied for outside of Thailand and it was easy to get with a letter from the company and getting the extension here was no hassle either.

Why does she have to go monthly to VN? I thought the 1 month entry can be extended another 2 times to make 3 months total? Or why not get a tourist visa for her?

What we need to know if you are here on a one year extension of stay or 90 day visa entry?

If on extension of stay she should be able to obtain a non immigrant O visa and then obtain an extension of stay for one year on the basis of your employment.

For Consulate visa issue believe she will need a copy of marriage certificate and your passport with extension of stay.
