Picking Up Lost Coins

Featured Replies

See a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck!

I was always told by mum that if you laugh at a penny today...someday you will cry for a penny.

So of course, I never sneer at any coins in the street...no matter how small their denomination!

I always pick up coins I find on the street. But I get the impression that the Thais will just walk past and not bother, especially for 1 Baht coins.

I guess it all depends. It depends on how cheap or in need one is. :o

My GF said that I should only pick up coins if it's "heads" up, otherwise some bad luck could come my way. I pointed out that it is surely not right to leave a coin with "heads" down out of respect. " :D ", she said, hadn't considered that aspect.

I always pick 'em up. Someday might get rich. :D

Good for you, the only thing people like to pick up is a lady. That's lot more than 1 baht. :D

That brought a smile to my face and also brought back memories of the days back home when i used to suppliment my pocket money by stuffing a hanky up into the coin return slot. The good ole B button.

In those days I had nimble little fingers capable of doing such a thing. People always assumed I would end up as an Gynochologist and not in real estate.

Anyway, I would do the rounds of " my " phone boxes every few days to collect.

What a little thug I was when I was 8 but I always had money for comics.

On the street, I don't pick things up. The person who drops may come back to look for them.

whats more pathetic that you actually created this thread or that i responded in it?

In LOS I'll pick up coins, notes or anything else of value. The best I found was a folded 500 baht note on the side of a busy footpath.

When I was in Las Vegas outside the casinos, the successful players would come outside and throw most of their coins away. I made more money picking up these droppings than I could by playing the tables. :o

I have my clerk/assistant pick those up. They comprise a part of her year end bonus. The fact that I make an effort to spot these coins demonstrates how much I care as an employer.

:o
