SYSTEM PROGRAMMER AND ANALYST

ONLINE SURVEY AND DATABASE SYSTEM

THAI AND FOREIGN NATIONALS

BMRS Asia is a marketing research company that focuses on providing Customer & Employee Satisfaction reports to clients in Thailand. Our clients are the leading companies in their fields (both Thai & Global) covering industries such as Retailers, Restaurants, Mobiles, ISP’s, Online Media & Book Publishing, Satellite and Health. Although only a small company, we have been very successful so far and our clients are very loyal and understand the value of receiving quality information about their Customers from professional researchers like us. For us, the Customer (our client) is King.

The core business of BMRS is to design professional questionnaires and then make a survey among people to gain a better understanding of consumers – what they think, where they go, what they like, how they enjoyed a product, etc.

We are now looking for a full-time System Programmer & Analyst to join us, so that we can create a new and better online survey and database system from the bottom up. The concept and marketing is in place (and the clients); we just need to find the right person to help build it 

The person we are looking for needs to have the desire to join a small, but growing, company – we are not a large corporation, so our working environment is very different. However, this person can expect a potential partnership offer for the online side of our business in the short-medium term if they so wish.

The following are what we believe we need in this person.

Experience & Ability

• Experienced in PHP programming (or ASP.NET - for our current projects we use php for online survey forms and databases, so we would need a good reason to change, but we are open to ideas). We envisage that the system will be created from both new and existing applications that are available in the programming language.

• Create web forms for online surveys – to be automated in future (possibly using survey software already purchased, but only if can integrate completely with our system, website, database, etc).

• Create, develop and maintain the database of panel members (including to store securely the member details, demographics, security aspects of members’ details/data protection, tracking emails sent/returned + optimize emailing out to reduce returned emails, link online survey answers into database, tracking response history to surveys taken, awarding points/gifts to panel members who complete surveys, etc).

• Create data tables of results of survey answers, these will be used to analyse data and produce separate reports for clients based on % of answers to questions

• Create Charting and Report Features, and show results in chart format online (in real-time as option also) for clients to log in and view results.

• Other ad-hoc work as required, either for online surveys or other tasks related, eg Excel type work for general office duties

• Help to maintain internal computer systems and basic computer maintenance, eg updates, security, etc (less than 10 work stations)

• Must like to do a variety of different work related to programming, and become a part of a small but growing team. We will, in the future, have many different types of projects that require databases and/or online data collection (or other ways, eg using PDA, on-site electronic feedback points) and so an interest to make these projects successful will be required

• In future the person might be required to find other IT persons to work on outsource basis, so will need to be able to brief, control and manage them effectively to ensure work gets completed as per brief and so it links with our own system

• Previous experience with survey software or CRM/EFM software is a definite bonus as is experience with automated charting from database results

• Knowledge of any of the following is also an added bonus, but not a requirement: data entry software; market research software (eg SPSS, SurveyCraft, ConfirmIT); traditional analysis techniques (conjoint, chi-squared, regression, correlation, etc); programming for PDA’s and other remote applications; SEO and online marketing (including bulk emailing management to avoid bounced back emails); commercial experience in any similar venture; website development and maintenance; basic website page creation

Personal Attributes Required

• Good command of English language

• Friendly and sincere

• Flexible and enthusiastic

• Ability to find and suggest solutions to problems in a pro-active manner

• Mature and with experience of building important software systems, with good references

• Looking for an exciting new opportunity, long-term, in a small company

• Ability to understand the big picture of our business and be able to also understand clients’ businesses and often complex structure (especially when it comes to making automated reports)

• Ability to be creative (or able to work with a creative outsource team)

Please send your CV to the Managing Director at: Apply *@* BMRS-Asia.com.

Please specify “TV Apply – Programmer” in Subject line.

Please also tell us why you would like to work for a smaller company with an excellent future online product.

Thanks

Andy
