I'm sorry...but i can't find the information I need maybe I didn't look good enough but please forgive me. I have a situation on my hands, I bought my ticket to Bangkok today for my trip to Thailand in October. My passport is Mexican, this means I need to get a visa before I travel since I get no exempt right? My goal was to stay in Thailand for 2 months and 13 days. I'm going there to visit my Thai gf and spend our birthdays together. Now, the tourist visa is 30-60 days, but since my passport is Mexican I would only get a 30 day stamp on arrival? What I want to know is since my passport is Mexican does that mean I can only stay in thailand for 30 days with a tourist visa? Is it possible for me to get an extension for another 30 days with my mexican passport on a tourist visa making it a total of 60 days? If possible, can I still extend it for 1 or 2 more weeks at the immigration? or will i have to pay the overstay fee of 500 baht per day for the last 2 weeks? I don't qualify for a non immigrant visa so the tourist visa is the only way I can go...please is there something I can do to stay the time I want to stay with a tourist visa on my Mexican passport? please anyone who can give me there thoughts and helpful information for this situation? I'm sorry if I failed to search for my answer in the forums...I just want to hear from people that have been in this situation or know what to do...thank you for your time.

You should be able to enter for 30 days and extend for 30 days. Don't believe you would have any problem obtaining another tourist visa from Laos or Malaysia to cover the extra time you require here - it would require a trip there and overnight stay.

You would not be able to extend more than 7 days after full tourist visa stay so be best to obtain a new visa for the extra 13 days (or more as often happens).

You can check with Consulate when you obtain the visa - but I do not believe there is any limitation on obtaining a visa outside of Mexico.

Thank you so much lopburi3...this helps me a lot and puts me more at ease... when you say I could not be able to extend more than 7 days after full tourist visa stay. Do you mean I can extend for 7 more days max after a 30 day extension? So would that mean the total amount I could stay with a tourist visa with extensions would be 67 days? and after that I would have to pay the rest of the days as overstay right?

I'm sorry but I have another question about this, I just talked to my gf and I told her the answer you gave me. Apperantly shes more familiar with Burma since shes been there before. So I ask you, can I get another tourist visa there instead of Laos or Malaysia? or do I have to obtain one from the destinations you told me. I hope to hear from you soon to confirm my final questions.

Remember on overstay you get a red flag (or blue) in your passport and are subject to arrest and going to jail if found out. It is unlikely they will issue a 7 day extension of stay (which is not a normal action) without you providing a ticket out of Thailand within that time period. Much better you obtain a new visa at some point during your stay - perhaps you both could make the trip as a vacation.
