7 Pin S-video To Rca Cable (pc - Tv)

I've been to all the obvious places.. Tuk Comm and Wattana.. No luck.. Wattana sent me to the hardware shop next door.. still no luck.. Everywhere seems to have the four pin version or the 6 pin which is differnt and doesn't fit.. I searched online and the adaptor cable is readily available overseas. So how come I can't find it here. ? Usually cable etc are easier and cheaper to find in Asia.. is this an exception or am I just looking in the worng places ?

The male end connects to my laptop output (Acer) the other end should be the usual red/white/yellow RCA plugs..

hi,

your connector is, like modern laptop, able to output: composite(yellow connector), S-VHS, and YUV(red, green,blue), your laptop is also maybe offering input connector.

t's normally given with your laptop and this is a part of the reason why it's difficult to find.

just a note for the white and red connectors, you'll need to get a jack audio to rca adapter, to get composite out you might also need a s-vhs to rca adapter.

Errrrrrrr... Thanks NHJ. Trouble is I knew all that .. BUT I haven't been able to find anywhere that sells the buggers.. Yes sometimes a S-Video to Female RCA patch lead comes with a video board or new laptop.. But I never got one.. Was hoping somebody would know of a decent electronic/hardware store.. Then I can just get the bits and make up my own cable..

No worries.. least you replied..

My old Dell 8100 has a connector like that.

A 4-pin S-video cable fits and works into S-video on the telly so I assume a 4-pin S-video => composite will too :o

Worth a shot.

EDIT The audio comes via the headphone socket.
