Bmta Bus Fares

Featured Replies

Non-air con BMTA buses appear to be charging a flat fare of 9 Baht. When did it go up to that price? I missed that one.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't ride the non-air con buses myself but the most likely raised the air con bus rates too. It already has gone up 2 baht on my usual run from MRT Lat Prao to Vejthani Hospital. I'll be making my usual trip Wednesday and will post if the rates have been raised.

Of course they could have done it so the fare takers wouldn't have to hand out 50 satang coins and you don't need to have one either. Sometimes it's nice to have a round number.

I believe that the latest round of increases took effect on Sept. 15, 2008.

Back To The Future !!?

Sorry - looking at the wrong week on the calendar. I meant Sept. 1, 2008.

Actually the fare is 9 baht on some lines (cream/red) and 10 on others (blue/white). Just five years ago the fares were baht 3.5 and 5.

And allane is correct that the increases took effect on September 1st.

Sophon

Probably increased to cover the cost of the free buses that are running.

Air con bus went up by 2baht and little green bus went up by 1 baht.
