I have had a big boy dog decide to come and stay. We have had him fixed. He is a great guard dog but gentle with the kids.We live on a golf course and he has a habit of jumping the fence and chasing the golf carts. The course people are not happy so want to take him and dump him far away. I would hate this to happen to a great boy.Can anyone HELP suggestions please.

The variable that is easiest to change is probably the fence. Doesn't have to be higher, put a lip inward facing of 50cm or so might be enough to discourage him jumping up. Dogs like space to run about - hope he gets to play when no one is looking.

Just as an aside, following an escape of my two when my darling OH left the gate open the other night, teaching other members of the house the best doggie recall process. OH shouted their names in her best loud 'bad dog' voice, I banged their feeding bowl on the ground and said 'sit down' loud enough to be heard. They ran towards the idea of food - not to be told off.

Yes.......as Cuban says.......a higher/better fence will sort out this problem. :o

You may also want to check for other escape possibilities, as the dog for sure will find out if there are any :D
