Anyone Ever Taught In Japan?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking for a job in Tokyo and wondered if anyone had any connections (schools/agenty) that they might be able to put me in touch with?

Cheers

Worked in Japan some time ago but no current contacts in Tokyo. Show up and buy the Japan Times! (or read it before you go)

Look at the jobs section on gaijinpot.com as well as Dave`s ESL Cafe Japan

The ESL job market is saturated here (I work in Tokyo currently) but there are jobs available. However one of the big obstacles is that most schools want you to be in Japan for interview face to face and have a valid working visa already with a focus on the former (some schools might sponsor you for a visa). There are many foreigners here already so competition is quite fierce. Outside of Tokyo you have more of a chance though
