Hello,

I will try to explain myself as best as i can... We are opening a hotel / restaurant in jomtian, actually we've got the building everything ready but dont have the right visa yet. The owner is Thai ( My Dad's girlfriend ) and there is us (me and my friend who is a French chef). For me, i have a visa non O for 1 year more because of my father so the problem doesn't start here. But my friend have a 3 months visa, and we're looking for a good way to make his permit. I'am asking here after been to so many places in pattaya and it's always differents rules / prices / conditions. My friend is 26 years old, double nationality ( French / German ). He have 3 diploma for differents cooking school back in France.

So if someone could tell me what are the real choice that we can think of ?

The company things is quiet expensive with taxes and employees ... What about partnership ?

Sorry to ask here, but i'am really getting crazy by doesn't know who to believe and where to start...

Thanks a lot !

The company (hotel/restaurant) must apply for a work permit for your French/German friend. If he gets the work permit before his current 90-day permission to stay expires he then applies at the local immigration office for an extension of stay based on employment. Otherwise, he goes with the receipt for the application for the work permit and the required company documents to a Thai consulate in a nearby country to get a non-immigrant visa type B.

So the only thing we can do is to make a company? There isn't an other way which doesn't make us pay so much taxes ?

Nope....unless you want to work illegally

see a lawyer before you go any further. Ignorance is not bliss.

As the previous post advised you need a lawyers help.

It may not require a company formation. A Thai can do a business registration as Sole Trader or such and be able to get the work permits. But you probably won't be able to get around the 4 employee per permit issue.

Even your visa can be a problem for you getting a work permit. I assume it was gotten under your fathers visa to support you that could be a problem.
