Check In Times Before Flights?

Featured Replies

Can some one please clarify for me how long you need to be at the airport before a domestic and international flight?

I always thought 1 hr for domestic, 2.5 hours international but after purchasing some tickets recently the travel agent advised me 4 hrs for international and 2 for domestic  :o

Many thanks for any help

depends on the airline i think. air asia domestic for example is 45 minutes before takeoff.

I aim for a MINIMUM of 1 hour domestic, 2 hours international.

Also factor in time for delays getting to the airport, usually means I'm sitting in the bar for an hour plus but better that than still waiting at immigration when they announce final call :o

I agree, same for me.

There's no universal rule. It varies from airline to airline, airport to airport and country to country.

At CNX I usually arrive about an hour before scheduled departure time if I'm checking luggage, whether domestic or intl; and about 45 minutes before if I only have carry-on. I wouldn't try that at BKK though.
