Need An Easy To Use Photo Program

Featured Replies

The wife has just bought a nice new Nikkon camera. So has been talking photos on the highest res. Before when we wanted to reduce the size. we just right clicked and reduced from there. But since i think that was XP Pro that had that function and we now have XP home. I am after a free application that will allow us to resize our pics. The camera came with software. But when we try to register, windows encounters a problem. So to the experts. What free software would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

FastStone Image Viewer is an excellent choice. It's free, fast and can do batch conversions on files. Support for RAW format included. It's on my list of "must have" applications.

myself now use ACDSee Pro, [paid version]

but the older ACDSee versions are free and very simple to use.

Thanks to Reimar for the PM and now using a program he was quite happy to privide to me.

If your only after right click ability then get the XP powertoy 'image resizer' from MS..

Does exactly what it says on the tin.. No more, no less..

If its just resizing/basic editing (things like contrast, brightness, saturation etc) you are after then give Irfanview a try

Penkoprod

One program which is easy to use for image resizing and should have come free with XP Home is Microsoft Office Picture Manager (MOPM).

Just right-click on the filename of the image you wish to resize, and select Open With... MOPM.

Once open, click Edit Pictures, then Resize.

Could not be easier.
