Tourism Thailand Vows to End Dual Pricing Amid Growing Tourist Backlash
On one part tourists just pay it because it's cheap to them compared to their home country. In some cases these dumb foreigners just hand a 1000 THB note to a 7eleven cashier for something that's 200 THB and tell them to keep the change. I've actually seen it... 😂 It's thanks to these idiots that they continue. The sad part is that expats are here on a salary that you can go by in Thailand and they get charged the same. A work permit should be enough to filter them out. But sadly this is not always the case. So, you went through all the hoops and got yourself a pink ID card which they normally specifically ask for at the entrance of national parks when showing DL or WP... Then got refused on the ID card? What kind of bs is that? I hate Karens but that would make me turn into one😅 -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
yep, there are losses in regen, and there are losses in acceleration with high current. high current => copper/heat losses in the wires. I wonder if anyone ever reviewed EV car wires gauge and quality, I'm sure the BYDs are inferior and thinner than the ones like in Tesla. To fast charge at 250kW, you need some crazy thick cables. New BYD firmware shows dynamic ranges, mike usually show 5-10% less than with previous firmware, I have bigger tires and go 100-120 often, living in the best province of Thailand 😄 (235/60) I get 16-18.0 -

Report Comelec Begins Final Ballot Deployment in Metro Manila Ahead of May 12 Elections
File photo for reference only MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has commenced distributing 7.5 million ballots across Metro Manila, marking the final phase of nationwide ballot deployment as election day approaches on May 12. Comelec Chairperson George Garcia announced that ballots would be delivered to eight cities — Caloocan, Marikina, Pasig, Valenzuela, Quezon City, Malabon, Navotas, and San Juan — on Tuesday, May 6. The remaining cities in Metro Manila are slated to receive their ballots the following day. As one of the country's most densely populated voting regions, Metro Manila is the last to receive ballots. Deliveries to other regions have already been completed and are securely stored in local treasurer's offices. The secured ballots will be handed to electoral board members either on Sunday or early Monday morning, allowing teachers to head directly to their assigned precincts. Ensuring the security of ballot transport, Comelec has enlisted the assistance of the Philippine National Police to escort each delivery truck. "This is the number one accountable document in an election," stated Garcia, highlighting the importance of ballot security. Preparations On Track for Election Day With less than a week remaining before the polls, the Comelec is concentrated on monitoring and supervision as significant preparations are largely finalised. "We're on track with all our preparations," Garcia assured. Current efforts focus on equipment delivery, final testing, and sealing of precincts nationwide, verifying ballot security, and deploying security personnel to critical areas. The Technical Evaluation Committee's certification on April 30 confirmed that the automated election system is ready to function "properly, securely, and accurately," a crucial step for implementing automated elections. Ongoing Testing and Sealing Final testing and sealing of voting machines are ongoing until May 7, although extensions have been granted to some precincts requesting additional time until May 8, especially where electoral board members were initially unavailable. "This flexibility allows final testing and sealing to continue up to election day if necessary," Garcia explained. No incidents have been reported during the nationwide distribution of ballots and election equipment, including automated counting machines and batteries. Special Voting Arrangements Special arrangements ensure that vulnerable sectors will be the first to vote from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on election day. Garcia confirmed that all teachers expected to serve have indicated their availability for May 12. Approximately 68 million voters have registered for the upcoming elections, with Comelec ensuring every measure is in place for a smooth voting process. Israel Hamas War the Widening Middle East Conflict
A senior Hamas official told AFP on Tuesday the group was no longer interested in truce talks with Israel after Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday announced a new “intensified” offensive in Gaza that will involve Israeli troops holding on to seized territory and significant displacement of the population. “There is no sense in engaging in talks or considering new ceasefire proposals as long as the hunger war and extermination war continue in the Gaza Strip,” Basem Naim told the news agency, urging the international community “to pressure the Netanyahu government to end the crimes of hunger, thirst, and killings” in Gaza. His comments come a day after Israel’s military said expanded operations in Gaza would include displacing “most” of its residents, and amid Israeli strikes on Yemen and Lebanon.
