I'm 33, male. I live a clean lifestyle, no booze, cig's, drugs, junkfood ( junkfood very, very occasionally ). I eat a diet of wholegrains, clean, lean protiens, lots of fish dinners - steamed herring, sardines, salmon etc Non fat milk/yoghurt, nuts, good oils - Flaxseed, cod liver, olive in moderation, drink green tea and plenty of water. Quite possibly a perfect diet.

Until recently I've been working out regularly. I used to lift weights, but I now train excusively with bodyweight exercises. It's quite possible that I'm chronically overtrained, which I have been before, but I've never felt as bad as this.

I feel totally wiped out - all the time, like a tiredness/fatigue beyond anything I've ever experienced, but when I go to bed I just can't sleep. I have become short tempered and easily annoyed, anti - social. My heart rate is elevated and I am experiencing strange sensations around the left side of my chest. I have developed a twitch in my left (sometimes both eyes) eye.

I've attempted to workout in this state - got through the workout but experienced a kind of mania afterwards, like a detatchment from reality. I even had a slight car accident a few weeks ago due to my inability to concentrate whilst driving.

Very, very worrying. I went to my GP (Uk), who commented on how fit and well I looked?? He sent me for bloodtest's, which came back OK.

I've been under heavy stress lately, burnout at work, a spell of unemployment, debt, a few disagreements with family members, which no doubt would at least contribute to such a condition, but I just can't seem to recover, I've really come away from myself.

I'm inarticulate too, too tired to read, talking mumbo jumbo, falling over my words. I feel like I need to sleep for 10 years but my body/mind won't let me.

In addition to the above, I suffer from an anxiety disorder - OCD, which is pretty bad. I'm not taking any med's for the OCD at the moment.

:o Any idea's?

While this could indeed be psychological in origin the symptoms are worrisome enough that personally I would feel better if you first had a thorough workup by a neurologist (including a head CT). If THAT also proves normal then a good shrink would be next stop. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. Haven't worked out for a month now but still fatigued. OCD has been an ongoing battle since teenage years. A trauma in my early twenties made it fullblown and I've been struggling ever since. I also have BBD - hence the working out. As I mentioned in OP, I am now 33.

Although pretty much lived in constant distress all my life I have never been as bad or experienced symptom's like I am now.

I' m sure stress has a lot to do with it, bringing a pre - disp to the surfrace. I live in the UK btw.

Do you drink a lot of coffee? You may also be sensitive to MSG, so lessening those things, plus less sugar in your diet would offer some measure of relief - though if you're addicted to caffeine (all coffee drinkers are) then you'll feel crappy for the first few days - if you cold turkey.

One thing that would help considerably is a cleansing fast. Also known as a juice fast, if you do it properly. If you're not an experienced faster, then start with a one day, then going on to a 3-day, and so on. I've written a soon-to-be available book on fasting, with lots of detail and case studies. A cleansing fast may or may not be a cure-all for what ails you, but it will certainly help improve your mental and physical well being.

Your sound like Chronic fatigue or something of that nature. One thing for sure is your immune system is needing help.

Detox would be my advice.

Most doctors, call these types of ailments neurological or a syndrome, which basically means they have no clue and then they sell you anti depressants or something else from the medicine cabinet. None of which actually cure anything, they just block the symptoms.

The majority of medication is just drugs that block the symptoms and while on them, you will feel ok although you will never get to the cause and cure.

If you are in London, I would go and see http://www.thefinchleyclinic.co.uk/nojavascript/ or look up other "alternative / holistic healers"

I personally had the same symptoms and I am am on a slow recovery detoxing my body of heavy metals and Candida.

If you have used a lot of antibiotics in the last 12 months, let me know please.

good luck, diet will be a major thing in your healing process.
