Can I go get the re-entry permit single entry prior to checking in with the airline?

Or

Do I have to check in first, get my boarding pass to present it to the immigration officer?

I'm leaving at midnight. They still gonna be open for stamping, right?

Thanks in advance :o

They are open 24 hours.

Do not forget the photo as there are no facilities.

Yes after check in near immigration check somewhere. I have never used it.

Leave extra time.

After check in go to immigration, just before immigration on your left hand you can aply for the re-entry permit. Look for the sign. As Lite Beer said, don't forget the photo! Process takes about 10 to 30 minutes depending on how bussy it is.

That's because they are sent for approval in batches. The sign says to allow at least 30 mins.

sorry dotcom but that is an incorrect statement, there are two workers in the re entry section, one does the checking of your application and then hands over to the officer who stamps your passport.

The forms are done in front of you and are not "sent for approval in batches"

As for the 30 minutes sign, I agree with you on that, however if they took the blasted TV away from the staff then that 30 mins would decrease big time

It was on the Left Side in the Dapartures Immigration Hall when I left 6 weeks ago

(Previously it had been at the Right Hand end).

The important thing is - you must get the Re-entry Permit

BEFORE you approach the Departure Immigration Desks.

If you try looking for it after you got your exit stamp - it will be toooo late.
